Politics

I have been actively involved in local politics for over two decades, primarily through the Social Democratic Party (PSD). Currently, I serve as a National Councillor of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), a role I assumed in 2024, which allows me to contribute to national-level strategic discussions and policy direction.

Locally, I’ve held several leadership positions within the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Lourinhã Section. I am the current President of the Political Committee, a position I also held from 2013 to 2015. Between 2015 and 2017, I served as President of the Board of the Section Assembly, reinforcing my commitment to grassroots political engagement.

My involvement in municipal governance has been equally significant. I was a Councilman on the Lourinhã Municipality Council from 2009 to 2013 and a Member of the Municipality Assembly from 2005 to 2009. During this time, I also represented Lourinhã in the Intermunicipal Assembly of the Intermunicipal Community of the West, contributing to regional collaboration and development.

At the parish level, I served as President of the Ribamar Parish Assembly from 2005 to 2009 and again as a Member from 2017 to 2021. Earlier, I was Vice-President of the Ribamar Parish Council from 2001 to 2005, where I began my journey in public service.

Beyond elected roles, I’ve participated in strategic and environmental initiatives, including the Council for Planning and Strategic Management of Lourinhã and the Commission for the Environment and Quality of Life. In 2016, I was honored with the Recognition of Honor and Municipal Merit for my contributions to local governance and civic life.
